Trusting My Body Changes Everything

Sometimes the wisdom of the body doesn’t come in the calm moments, it shows up right in the middle of fear, doubt, and the urge to abandon what you’ve already started.
For me, it often looks like this: I get excited about something I’m building, I pour myself into it, and then eventually fear creeps in. My mind starts its self-doubt thoughts… Maybe I’m not doing enough. Maybe I need to be something more. Maybe I should take another course, or start over with a new idea. Is there enough value in it to sustain my life or provide for my kids.
It’s a lot of fear, and when those thoughts show up, my body reacts. I get tense, anxious, almost like I am hyped up. It feels like I need to jump into something different just to quiet the discomfort.
That’s exactly how I was feeling this morning. The “not enough” pattern was loud: I’m not creating enough. I’m not doing enough. It’s not big enough, not valuable enough. Maybe I should start something different. Maybe I need to be more, do more, learn more, take another course, or start an entirely new career!! The thoughts kicked into overdrive.
It’s a pattern I’ve experienced many times. I’ll get so far with something, and then suddenly I’ll think I need to make it bigger, better, or completely change it. Sometimes I wonder if it’s boredom, sometimes self-sabotage, probably a little of both.
But here’s what was really cool today… I spiraled for a tiny bit, and while I was doing an in-the-moment tapping session to come back into my body, I realized this discomfort I was feeling wasn’t proof that I needed to do more.... it was simply my body reacting to the fear that caused those racing thoughts.
After doing a bit of tapping and tuning into my body, my energy started to shift, my breath felt fuller, the racing thoughts melted, and the fear began to lift. Once I calmed my thoughts and gave myself space to listen, I could hear the real message: "just get back into the flow, and trust that what you’re building will keep evolving with you."
That reminder was huge, because I know one of my deepest fears is staying stuck or small, and that pattern I was experiencing actually keeps me from growing and evolving. It makes me think I have to keep starting over. But when I zoom out, I can see that I’ve been creating a really solid foundation, in my business and in my personal life. And I am actually so damn proud of myself!
What I’m building right now is actually really cool. It’s already changing lives, including my own, and it doesn’t need to be tossed aside just because fear tries to convince me it’s not enough. The beauty of this work is that it grows with me. My programs, my writing, my sessions...they don’t stay stuck. They’re alive, just like I am. Every time I learn something new, move through a fear, or expand into a deeper part of myself, what I create in my business, in my relationships, and all other areas in my life evolves too. It’s not static, it’s a living reflection of who I am becoming.
I had a message the other day from a client that also gave me a reminder… this client I worked with recently was struggling to find her dream property. She’d lost out on a couple of offers and started to believe maybe it wasn’t going to happen. She knew she was blocking herself with her fearful thoughts. We did a session together to clear what was holding her back, and a week and a half later she texted me: “Erin, I am happy to share that we bought a place and we take possession in 4 weeks!”
Moments like that with my clients blow me away. They remind me that what I do matters, and that when I trust the wisdom of my body and stay the course, I’m in alignment with what I am meant to do....just go with the flow, baby!
These are the kinds of reminders that inspired me to create A Month of Worthiness, because so many of us carry these old “not enough” patterns in our bodies. In the program, we use energy sessions, practices, and tools to help you release them so you can feel grounded, free, and deeply worthy. Check it out here.
3 Simple Ways to Trust Your Body’s Wisdom
Pause + Breathe When your body tenses up, stop and take one slow, intentional breath. Often, the breath itself is enough to interrupt the spiral.
Name the Sensation Instead of reacting to thoughts, ask: “What is my body saying right now?” Tight chest, shallow breath, buzzing energy...these are usually signals, not problems.
Anchor Back Use a grounding practice that works for you.....tapping, movement, or simply placing a hand on your heart to bring yourself back into the present moment and out of fear.
The more I practice listening to my body, the more I realize that trusting my body is also about trusting myself. My body doesn’t lie, it always guides me back to flow, back to clarity, back to the reminder that I am already enough.
This week, I’m holding the intention: “I trust the wisdom of my body.” and it is the intention for the Free Sunday Frequency Reset!
Lots of love,
Erin
